Alexander Lukashenko wins presidential elections in Belarus with 83.49%

Alexander Lukashenko has won the presidential elections in Belarus, winning 83.49% of the votes according to preliminary estimates. The Central Election Commission is still expecting data from polling stations established abroad.Presidential election voter turnout made up 87.2%.4.42% of voters have cast their votes for Tatiana Korotkevich. Sergei Gaidukevich and Nikolai Ulakhovich have won 3.32% and 1.67% respectively. Over 6% of the voters have voted against all of the candidates.The CEC will announce the final data after regional election commissions and the Minsk City Election Commission sign final protocols on votes for each candidate.The total number of voters included in voter lists exceeded 7 million peopleThe election campaign in Belarus has been monitored by over 37,000 national and 900 international observers.According to head of the CIS observation mission Sergei Lebedev, the presidential elections in Belarus comply with Belarus" Electoral Code and generally accepted democratic standards.The election campaign has been held openly with the utmost respect for the observers, as pointed out by head of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation mission and SCO Secretary-General Dmitry Mezentsev.
