A joint meeting of the boards of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and Russia has ended in Moscow
The heads of the two departments confirmed their commitment to jointly upholding common interests in the international arena. As Sergei Lavrov noted, Moscow and Minsk stand in solidarity on an overwhelming number of international issues, and this is reflected on various platforms: from the CSTO to the SCO and BRICS. The countries mutually and actively support each other's political initiatives. The high dynamics of the development of the so-called "walking distance diplomacy" was noted. Over the past two years, six branches of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia have been transformed into Consulates General. It is planned to open a Belarusian foreign office in Voronezh by the end of this year. This process is two-way, as Maxim Ryzhenkov emphasized. It is planned to open branches of the Russian Embassy in Vitebsk, Gomel and Mogilev on the territory of Belarus. The Foreign Ministers of Belarus and Russia also signed a plan for inter-ministerial consultations for 2026.
