The first shrimp farm opened in Brest region
The country's first shrimp farm opened in Liahovichi district, Brest region. Its owner Vladimir Gotovchits is an economist by education, with successful work experience in Moscow. He returned to his homeland to create a unique business. The choice fell on shrimp — it was a free niche that had remained unoccupied until now. It took almost four years fr om idea to realisation. Vladimir thoroughly researched the industry, found an investor and set about creating the farm. The main difficulty is the adaptation of Asian freshwater Rosenberg shrimps to Belarusian conditions. Eight different microsystems have been created in incubators, wh ere the fry live in search of ideal conditions for growth. Now the farm is working in test mode, but they plan to reach full capacity in the near future.
