Protecting the domestic car business
10.02.2025
An important change for the domestic car business. From today, manufacturers and importers of foreign cars must pay tax at increased rates for each vehicle produced or imported into the country. Now Belarusians will pay Br544.5 when importing new cars from abroad, while for older ones — Br1.089. For official importers, everything is much more serious. Thus, legal entities will have to pay Br 23 575.91 for new cars with engine capacity of 1 to 2 litres. It is expected that such changes will not only increase the share of passenger cars produced in Belarus, but also help to improve the environmental situation and reduce the number of old and defective cars.
