Belarus and Cuba have built a strategic partnership based on equality and respect for each other's interests. This was stated by Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko during a meeting with Prime Minister of Cuba Manuel Marrero Cruz. According to him, the relations between Belarus and Cuba are characterized by absolute openness. "We should directly and frankly speak to each other about issues, if there are any. We shouldn’t keep them quiet. This is how we will be successful in realization of those projects that are beneficial for both sides", said the Prime Minister. Belarus and Cuba doubled the trade turnover in 2023, and increased it by further 20% over five months of 2024.
