New price regulation system
The government signed a decree on a new price regulation system the day before. The decision of the Council of Ministers was commented on at the Ministry of anti-monopoly regulation and trade (MART). The new mechanism will cover the entire chain – from the manufacturer to the counter. It covers 90% of consumer goods. Exceptions are medicines, alcohol and tobacco. They are already regulated by other documents. The new system takes into account the interests of all parties. The MART assures that no shock situation is foreseen on the market. The business has five days to bring the prices of the remaining goods in line with the requirements of the regulation. As noted at the Ministry of anti-monopoly regulation and trade, many trading chains have already begun to cut prices.
