More than one million tons of potatoes planned to be harvested by agricultural companies of Belarus

More than 650 thousand tons have already been harvested. The average yield this year is over 350 c/ha. Some varieties are breaking records. Thus, the "Gala" food potato yields 800 tons per hectare, while the top 3 in terms of yield include "Desiatka", as well as such valuable varieties as "Skarb" and "Manifest". It is not only the domestic market that will be fully supplied with potatoes, one third of the harvest will be exported. More than 10 countries choose to buy the Belarusian produce. Breeders continue to develop "narrow-profile" varieties. Thus, "Nara" is best suited for the production of chips, "Innovator" is good for French fries, the best variety for mashed potatoes is "Sineglazki", while "Skarb" is best for pancakes.
