More than 5 mln tonnes of sugar beet to be harvested in Belarus
17.10.2024
Agrarians are mass harvesting sugar beet. The expected harvest is more than 5 mln tonnes. The country's factories have already started its processing. Slutsk plant was one of the first to get involved in the work. Sugar from the new harvest is already on the shelves of shops, and not only domestic ones. Last year the agrarians delivered 62.000 tonnes of the sweet crop. This year they expect to obtain no less than this. Sugar production at the Slutsk plant is a waste-free process. The list of secondary products is wide. Beet pulp is used as fodder in cattle breeding. Molasses is partly used for yeast plant. And defecate is used to alkalise the soil.
