24.02.2025
Belarus is one of the world leaders in peat extraction and fuel briquette production. Last year, about 2 mln tonnes of peat were extracted, a large share of which is sold domestically. At the same time, the export geography is expanding. Products are shipped to 18 countries: Russia, China, Georgia, Türkiye and others. In total, more than 120.000 tonnes of peat products worth about 10 mln dollars were shipped. The most important task set by the energy sector for this year is the preparation of a feasibility study on the possible construction of a second nuclear power plant or a third power unit in the country.
