Harvesting campaign – at the finish line!
Harvest 2023 does not slow down. Less than 20 percent of the area remains to be harvested. Farmers have already threshed more than 6 million tons of grain, including rapeseed, of which 5 million 277 thousand are cereals and leguminous crops. It is planned to complete the harvesting of cereal grains and rapeseed on August 20-25, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food announced. The pace of harvesting is on par with the previous year. Now more than 200 thousand tons of grain are threshed in the fields per day. Along with harvesting, sowing is an equally important issue for farmers. Thus, more than half of the planned areas have already been sown with winter rapeseed. As far as corn is concerned, a strategic decision has been made this year. Areas scheduled for silage in November should be harvested in August. This is about 72 thousand hectares across the country. This measure will improve the quality of feed.
