Gomel "Medplast" to reach full vacutainer production capacity in 2026
The goal is 76 million vacuum tubes for venous blood per year. The demand for vacutainers in medicine is constantly growing, and broad prospects are opening up for the Belarusian manufacturer. This quantity will be enough to completely substitute imports, meeting the needs of the domestic healthcare system. As a result, the annual savings in foreign exchange resources will amount to the equivalent of more than BYN 30 million. At predent "Medplast" produces dozens of types of tubes of various parameters. They differ in size, volume and purpose. Thanks to special fillers, the functionality of Gomel vacutainers is much wider than that of other containers for biomaterial. The presence of reagents on their walls simplifies the task of laboratory technicians doing tests. Similar devices for collecting venous blood are produced in the USA, China, and Turkey. The Gomel enterprise has edged out foreign manufacturers on the market. Other products from Gomel "Medplast" are also successful. For example, syringes are exported to Cuba, Mongolia, and Russia.
