Flax harvesting: farmers need to speed up
29.09.2022
Lingering rains, and the flax crop runs the risk of a late autumn in the field. Even minimal downtime is an unacceptable luxury when it comes to a strategic crop for the country. Almost 12 thousand hectares are allotted for flax in the north of the country, 30% of which are the fields of Orekhovski flax mill. Specialists say that it is akin to a jeweller's job to grow flax in the north of the country. The main thing is to observe technological discipline. This is the only way to produce the “golden fleece”. However, an inspection by the State Control Committee has revealed that harvesting has been delayed on a number of farms. In mid-September, there was straw in almost half of the flax fields throughout the country.
