Farmers harvesting winter barley

Farmers harvested more than 130 thousand hectares of winter barley, which is half of the total area. Last year, this figure at the beginning of July was much lower - only about 5%. To date, almost half a million tons have already been threshed with a yield of 36.9 centners per hectare. The leaders is Brest region. More than 90% of winter barley fields have been cleared. The yield on the Kroshin farm in Baranovichi district is especially pleasing, more than 70 centners were harvested per hectare. The first leader among drivers of the 2024 agricultural season also works here. Vyacheslav Trus was the first in the region to transport a thousand tons of grain from the new harvest of winter barley. Soon farmers will enter the hottest phase of the campaign. Mass harvesting of grain will begin. Brest region expects to complete this marathon successfully and set a new personal record to harvest 1.6 million tons of grain.
