Enterprises are preparing for the start of the peat mining season

The peat extraction season in Belarus usually begins in late April - early May. Belarusian enterprises are preparing for it in advance. The plans for this year are to harvest 2 million 300 thousand tons of peat. Currently, the preparation of equipment and territories for the start of the extraction is being completed. One of the oldest enterprises in the industry is a peat briquette enterprise in the village of Usyazh, Smolevichi District. Every month, 7 thousand tons of briquettes are produced here. These products are in demand both among owners of private houses and public utilities. The association "Beltopgaz" owns more than 6 thousand hectares of land peat deposits.
