Effect of price regulation
09.11.2022
Deflation was registered in Belarus in October. This was declared by deputy minister of anti-monopoly regulation and trade (ARTM) Andrew Kartun. The price regulation system has been operating for almost three weeks. Initially, the regulator registered over 500 appeals a day, as well as on-line submissions and a hot line on the explanation of the price formation issues. There were many questions, especially in the non-food segment. As the ARTM noted, the effect from the measures taken is already visible. The inflation on the annualized basis is expected to slow down. The ARTM continues a series of seminars across the country for producers, importers and sellers on the issues of price formation according to the new rules.
