EAEU Intergovernmental Council completed. Belarus host two-day event
The events took place in the Great Stone industrial park and Nesvizh Castle. The final point was a meeting in expanded format. As a result, participants signed 5 documents that relate to different areas: from competition in transnational markets to the integration of the EAEU with the China's Belt and Road Initiative. In addition, the prime ministers of the five countries shared their vision of what other problems remain in the union. One of the main issues is digitalization. The time has come to resolve the issue of mutual recognition of the electronic digital signature of the EAEU. It is also necessary to intensify work on agreements on free trade zones with third countries. The Eurasian Economic Union recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. During this time, the Union's GDP grew by more than 12%. Mutual trade is also growing, and the share of payments in national currencies is also increasing. New infrastructure facilities are being built in all countries. And as it became known, Iran submitted a request to obtain observer state status in the EAEU. The application will be reviewed shortly. The next meeting of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council will be held in Yerevan in autumn.
