Cooperation between Belarus and the Smolensk region of Russia

The trade turnover between Belarus and the Smolensk region this year may exceed $5 billion. We are successfully cooperating in mechanical engineering. The proximity of Smolensk to the border of Belarus has turned the city into a logistics hub for the supply of Belarusian machinery. The only distributor of MAZ in Russia is located in the region. There is also a plant where road cars are made on the basis of the MAZ chassis. There are also areas that need to be developed more actively. These are light industry, chemistry, production of mineral fertilizers and woodworking. Now large-scale infrastructure development programs are being planned in the Smolensk region. And for the first time in 10 years, we will deliver a large batch of buses to this region. In addition, Belarusian specialists were invited to participate in the construction of roads and social facilities.
