Belarusian seed crops enjoying popularity abroad
16.11.2022
Belarusian crop varieties occupy more than 3 million hectares of arable lands abroad. Domestic seed crops are becoming increasingly popular in the CIS countries and Russia. Over 80% of Belarusian fields are sown with varieties of domestic selection. Farmers intend to expand planting of soybeans and sunflower in the future. Scientists plan to implement an investment project which will use biotechnological approaches in the breeding process and accelerate the development of new high-yield and environmentally adaptive crop varieties. Particular attention is paid to the development of new specialized food products, including import-substituting ones.
