30.11.2023
Specialists offer new types of leguminous crops, which are in maximum demand in the agricultural industry. As it was voiced at an R&D seminar in Zhodino, in the coming years, the acreage under peas and lupine, for example, will be tripled to 350 thousand hectares. High yields of such protein-rich plants will allow not only avoiding imports, but also making Belarusian meat and dairy products more competitive. The seminar was attended, among others, by industry experts from Russia. The prospects of such a crop as peas were also considered. Today, the R&D Center for Agriculture at the Academy of Sciences is working on 38 species of agricultural plants. A total of more than 500 domestic varieties have been registered.
