Belarusian interests in Siberia discussed in Tyumen
Belarusian interests in Siberia are being discussed in Tyumen these days. A delegation headed by the country's ambassador Dmitry Krutoi is paying a working visit to the region. The focus is on increasing supplies of domestic machinery, food, elevators and equipment. Tyumen is a major industrial hub, and Minsk is now among the region's main foreign trade partners among the CIS countries. The parties are interested in cooperation and ready to expand it. This was discussed during the negotiations. Agricultural industry remains a key area of cooperation. Belarus has already started supplying BNBC products for a large Russian poultry farming project. Great progress has been made in the housing and utilities sector. Belarusian elevators have been actually dominating the market of overhaul and new housing in Tyumen in the last two years. There are prospects in the transportation sector. Minsk is ready to supply more passenger vehicles, while Tyumen is planning a large-scale modernization of the metropolitan mass transit fleet.
