The Ministry of Energy intends to increase the pace of modernization of distribution networks. Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich told reporters about this after reporting to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the completion of the construction of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant and increasing the availability of electricity for heating residential buildings. This work has already been organized on a systematic basis. This year, according to him, it is planned to modernize about 5.6 thousand kilometers of electric networks in more than 1.5 thousand settlements (this is provided for by the program for 2021-2025). A strategic program for the development of the energy system for 2026-2030 is already being formed.
