Belarus increasing share of import-substituting products

Next year it is planned to implement a number of new investment projects in woodworking and satisfy the needs of the domestic market for certain types of finished products. For example, Svetlogorsk Paper Mill will launch one more paper production machine. Ivatsevichi-based plant will launch the production of kitchen facades and countertops, while in Vitebsk they will be producing wide profile furniture panels. In general, the country plans to increase the output of certain types of paper, cardboard and sanitary-hygienic products. The demand for them now exceeds the supply. Separate investment projects will be realized within the framework of the "One District – One Project" initiative. It is aimed at setting up of new production facilities and jobs, as well as regional development.
