Belarus has a forest fund of 9.7 mln ha
17.03.2025
The forest fund of Belarus amounts to almost 10 mln hectares. Full accounting and control of timber in the country is ensured by the EGAIS system. Smartphones, tablets, video surveillance systems, which cover 100% of the forest, have become assistants. The digitalisation of the industry continues, and a platform is being developed that will unite all forestry programmes. One of the announced novelties is a stereo scanner. The device will speed up the process of accounting for harvested timber. For example, to measure 30 cubic metres, a specialist spends on average half an hour. Thanks to the new development, such work will take only 5 minutes. Soon it will be introduced in all forestry enterprises of the country.
