Belarus and Russia are actively working on import substitution
Belarus and Russia are actively working on import substitution of units and assemblies. This was discussed during the visit of a delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov to BelAZ. Thus, a joint venture for the production of axial piston pumps was established in Pinsk. Previously, these products were supplied from Germany. BelAZ production in Zhodino is undergoing modernisation aimed at increasing the capacity to four vehicles per day. Previously, the enterprise produced three vehicles per day. Special attention is paid to robotisation of processes, in particular welding, which contributes to the improvement of product quality. Since 2022, Zhodino has been actively mastering the production of Russian-made high-capacity diesel engines. Prototypes of dump trucks with a load capacity of 220 tonnes powered by engines from the Ural and Kolomna plants have already been built.
