Belarus and Kamchatka region increase trade turnover by 9% in 2023
The most important joint projects were discussed in detail with the delegation from Kamchatka in the Government. Building relations with Russian regions is the foundation of the Belarusian economy, said Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik. Our enterprises have invested a lot in their development and are interested in supplying products to Kamchatka without intermediaries. Now this region has become the eastern gateway of the Northern Sea Route. The shipping volumes have already exceeded 20 million tons, which is several times more than in the Soviet times. This is a good opportunity for the region to strengthen relations with its partners, including Belarus. It is also important to diversify the bilateral trade. Today Belarus and Russia are discussing how to revitalize the entire of the Northern Sea Route. In this regard, the parties are counting on two types of products, fuels and marine products.
