About 50% of medicines on the Belarusian market are domestically produced

Import substitution is relevant for the pharmaceutical industry today. The share of domestic drugs on the market is maintained at the level of at least 50%. More than 4.000 drugs are registered in Belarus, of which 1.750 are produced by domestic companies. About half of them are produced by the organisations of Belpharmprom holding, which employs more than 7.000 people at its production sites. Over the last 5 years, more than 400 new medicines have been developed and registered in Belarus. And by 2030 22 investment projects with the total cost of over Br900 mln are to be implemented.
