05.06.2023
Seedlings resistant to low temperatures are cultivated on the basis of the Grodno Zonal Institute of Plant Growing. Here, watermelon sprouts were grafted onto a pumpkin, which feels fine in the Belarusian climate. Grafted plants are planted in open ground, drip irrigation is applied to each sprout. This technology allows you to get a crop of up to 40 tons per hectare. At the same time, the taste of Belarusian watermelon is that of Astrakhan one. The first crop of grafted watermelons will be harvested at the Institute of Plant Growing in mid-August.
