A solid foundation for food security
A solid foundation for food security has been created in Belarus. According to the results of the last harvesting campaign – a record harvest – more than ten and a half million tons of grain was received. For the first time in history, more than a ton of bread per person was collected. The processing industry is loaded with raw materials, fodder production is ensured, and high indicators are achieved in the dairy industry. This is how Belarus produces 840 kilograms of milk per capita. In Latvia and Lithuania – a little over 500-hundred kilograms, in Poland – almost 400, in Russia – 220 kilograms per person... As for meat: 135 kilograms per Belarusian per year. Poland approached this indicator – 131 kg. In the Global Food Security Ranking, Belarus is on the 36th line among 113 countries.
