Sasnovich into Sydney semifinals

Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich (WTA No.33) has moved past Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland 6:3, 6:3 to become the first semifinalist of the Sydney International. In the first-round match, Aliaksandra Sasnovich ousted Russia’s Daria Kasatkina. In the second-round match she defeated Priscilla Hon of Australia. In the semifinal Aliaksandra Sasnovich will face the victor of the meeting between Angelique Kerber (WTA No.2) of Germany and Petra Kvitova (WTA No.8) of Czechia.
