As of 22 May, 12,833 patients previously diagnosed with COVID-19 recovered and were discharged from hospitals in Belarus, according to the Healthcare Ministry. The nationwide tally of COVID-19 cases stands at 34,303 people. Belarus has performed 419,000 tests. A total of 190 coronavirus patients suffering from a number of chronic diseases have died. Meanwhile, the World Bank has approved a €90 million package to help Belarus take effective and timely action to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project will address the healthcare system’s immediate needs for medical equipment, test kits, as well as personal protective equipment for health workers.
