Meeting with Alexander Lukashenko discusses Belarusian education system

At the Palace of Independence, the President received a report from officials on preparations for the new school year. According to Alexander Lukashenko,Belarus does not need reforms to the education system. Instead, it is necessary to improve the existingframework. The President emphasized that the system"s organizational aspects, including the rules of university enrollment, the overall structure of educational institutions, do not need reforms. The same cannot be said about the teaching methodology. 28 new textbooks will be published by September. The government spending on education reaches 5 percent of the GDP. For comparison, Russiaspends 4.3%, andKazakhstan - 3.6%.
