For the first time Vitebsk celebrates the receipt of Magdeburg Law. The holiday program includes excursions, lectures, demonstrations of historical reconstructions and even a medieval party. The city received Magdeburg Law on March, 17, 1597. After that, the city had its own magistrate, a flag and a banner. The town hall was the main administrative building of the city and its decoration.
