Vitebsk marks 120 years of tram traffic. This means of transport appeared in the city on the Western Dvina earlier than in Moscow, St. Petersburg or Minsk. Back then the length of the tracks was about 10 kilometers, today it exceeds 200 kilometers. Until 1914 this means of transport was driven only by men. Now most of the tram drivers of Vitebsk depot are women. By the way, there are tram excursions during the Slavonic Bazaar and the City Day in Vitebsk. One can learn about the history of this transport in the tram museum, featuring more than two thousand exhibits.
