Villagers from Belovezhskaya Pushcha played hockey in 17th century

Residents of the villages near Belovezhskaya Pushcha played hockey back in the 17th century. This is evidenced by wooden skates found during an ethnographic expedition. The rare exhibit is more than a hundred years old, now it is stored in the museum of folk life and crafts of the national park. One of the skates was presented to the Belarusian Hockey Federation. The exhibit will be shown to the participants of the congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation, which will be held on May 19 in Cologne, where the venue of the tournament of 2021 will be announced.
