Video conference on SDGs takes place at the Council of the Republic

The results of the interaction between Belarus and the UN on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals were discussed at the Council of the Republic. Negotiations took place in a video conference format. Vice Speaker of the Upper House Anatoly Isachenko and UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki analyzed the work done and outlined the prospects for the coming year. As for the SDGs themselves, the plan is to gravitate more toward regional development. The National Strategy for Sustainable Development of Belarus until 2035 is now being finalized taking into account the situation with the pandemic. Belarus ranks 23rd among 162 states in the global SDG Index.
