The III Congress of the Union of Writers of Belarus continues in Minsk. The Forum has brought together over 600 participants from 10 countries. The writers sum up the work done within the last 5 years and make plans for the future. The focus is on the development of prose and poetry, the quality of children"s literature and the establishment of the institute of criticism. Belarusians are considered the most reading nation in the post-Soviet space. Almost 2000 new books have been published in the country in the last five years.
