Today marks International Day of Liberation of Nazi Concentration Camps. The date was set in memory of the international uprising of prisoners in 1945. A meeting-requiem will be held today in Vitebsk near the memorial on the territory of the former concentration camp "The Fifth Regiment". Thousands of prisoners suffered from hunger and diseases there. In memory of the terrible events an alley was opened. Soon a new memorial will appear there designed with the participation of  former prisoners. Currently more than three and a half thousand former prisoners of Nazi concentration camps live in the Vitebsk region.
