The Supreme Court found the punisher Osip Vinnitsky guilty of genocide of the Belarusian people without punishment due to the fact that the accused died. This is the fourth conviction against a Nazi executioner in the history of sovereign Belarus. Osip Vinnitsky was the commander of the first company of the 118th Ukrainian Security Police battalion. This unit is notorious for its atrocities on the territory of Belarus, in particular the burning of Khatyn — 17 episodes in total. At least 9 villages were destroyed by Vinnitsky and his subordinates, along with the inhabitants.
