The number of forest fires has decreased

In Belarus, forestry institutions conducted a whole complex of preparations for the fire season. Since the beginning of the year, over 100 incidents have been detected with the help of photo and video surveillance. The situation with forest fires in the country is monitored by about half a thousand fire observation towers. Compared to the same period in 2016, this year the number of forest fires has been halved. Severe fines are envisaged for violating fire safety rules.
