The draft law on road activities was approved by the Council of the Republic

The draft law "On Changes to Laws Regarding Road Activities" was approved at the fourth session of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation. A number of innovations concern the design, construction, reconstruction and ongoing maintenance of the road network and structures. Specific roadway operating regulations are introduced. These include, in particular, the use of road right-of-way, pre-emergency and emergency structures, and roadside services. The law also provides for the fulfillment of Belarus' international obligations. Furthermore, it addresses digitalization issues in the road sector. The concept of an intelligent transport system is introduced, it will monitor the current condition of the road and its structures in real time.
