The priest's name and his works are inseparably connected with the Turov Diocese itself. Founded in 1005 and revived later, it is the second oldest in Belarus. At present there are 2 monasteries and about 80 parishes. The name and works of Kirill Turovsky are widely known from Veliky Novgorod to Bulgaria and Serbia. In his native lands he is especially honored. To take part in the celebrations on the occasion of his birthday, thousands of believers of different generations came to the ancient city. Prayers and canons, teachings and tales, poems and parables. The legacy left by Kirill Turovsky makes up about 70 works and is of great value for the whole Orthodox world. On the day of the memory of the philosopher, as 1000 years ago, the Divine Liturgy was served. It was led by Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus.
