Every country is doing its best to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said today as he met with Vice Speaker of the Council of the Republic. Marianna Shchetkina is the National Coordinator for SDGs, which are a set of global benchmarks. These are 17 goals to be achieved till 2030. Belarus has already taken a number of important steps in this direction. According to Marianna Shchetkina, for our country it is important to take into account the global goals when drafting high-level documents. It is also important to carry out a campaign to raise the awareness, especially amoung young people. There are plans to hold a National Forum on Sustainable Development Goals with the participation of representatives of government, civil society, business and academic circles.
