An electronic car passport system is due to be introduced in Eurasian Economic Union countries starting from next year. Each vehicle will be assigned an ID number using which the owner will be able to see the vehicle"s entire history. This will help reduce the number of car thefts. Even now motorists can have their cars marked with special labels, which can help the police track down the owner of the vehicle in case it is stolen.
