Simpler rules of applying for citizenship

The MPs have passed amendments to the Law on citizenship of the Republic of Belarus on the first reading. It is planned to reduce the period of continuous residence necessary for a foreigner to be able to apply for Belarusian citizenship. The list of people who can apply for citizenship on preferential terms has been expanded. The amendments have affected the procedure of restoration of citizenship as well.
