Today is the International Day for Monuments and Sites. It is celebrated since 1984 on the initiative of the Assembly of the International Council for the Protection of Monuments and Sites of UNESCO. There are more than 5.5 thousand monuments of architecture and history inBelarus. In addition, there are from eight to ten thousand archaeological sites in our country. They are not yet included in the state list of historical and cultural heritage. Such objects are found during archaeological excavations. Tomorrow excavation will begin on the site of construction of the secondMinskring road. TheInstituteofHistoryof the National Academy of Sciences gives permission to conduct excavations.
