Remains of Soviet soldiers reburied in Vitebsk region

The remains of 42 Soviet soldiers were reburied with military honors in the Vitebsk region. They died in the winter of 1944 during fierce battles on the outskirts of Vitebsk. The front stood here for six months, until the beginning of Operation Bagration. In less than a month, about 40 thousand soldiers died in these places. In August, search engines from Belarus and Russia gathered at the site of the heroic events. During the international action "Watch of Memory" the remains of the soldiers were raised. Search engines intend to return here next spring. In the meantime, work is going on in the archives.
