Belarus remembers its heroes. In the Slavgorod district, the remains of 25 Red Army soldiers were reburied with honors. They were discovered by search parties during excavations at the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War. During this particular battle, which took place here in the summer of 1941, thousands of Red Army soldiers died protecting their native land. Until now they were considered missing. Relatives of those whose names were established thanks to dog tags during the excavation arrived at the ceremony. Reburial ceremonies were held in Slavgorod, the agricultural towns of Svensk, Lopatichi, and Aleksandrovka.
