Improvement of the country"s pension system must be guided by the principle of justice. This was stated by Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on the development of the pension system. The decision to raise the retirement age, if adopted, will apply to all citizens. It is necessary to take into account the difference in life expectancy between men and women, the specificity of cities and villages, the working conditions in some areas, and many other factors.The retirement age is today 60 years for men and 55 for women. The determining factor in decision making today is the government"s proposal based on economic calculations and the opinion of the citizens, which can not be ignored. Referring to the Government, the Head of State emphasizes that it is necessary to carefully and thoroughly examine all aspects of the topics discussed and work out the best options so that our pension system was reliable and worked smoothly for the benefit of people.
