President of Belarus urges new approaches in fight against smoking

President Alexander Lukashenko urges to find new approaches in the fight against smoking. The Belarusian leader stated this at the meeting on the trafficking and consumption of tobacco products and smoking of electronic systems. The problem of smoking is topical for Belarus. Almost half of men and a quarter of women smoke in Belarus. The Ministry of Health has initiated amendments to the anti-smoking legislation. The updated draft decree was discussed with the head of state. The document proposes, in particular, to equate electronic cigarettes to tobacco products, as well as to expand the list of places prohibited for smoking.
