Today, the President opened a maternity hospital in the complex of the fifth Minsk city hospital. The maternity hospital is equipped with the most modern equipment and the best specialists who will be able to nurse the most difficult babies and to ensure a healthy future for their mothers.This year Belarus will reach the zero demographic balance for the first time and taking into account migration the number of residents will be 17 thousand more. The infant mortality rate has dropped by 2.5 times. According to this indicator, Belarus caught up with the advanced countries. This year there has been not a single case of maternal mortality.
